    LG 45 Pint Portable Dehumidifier 4.1 5 28 28
LG 450 EAL Humidifier I considered this dehumidifier because of the exceptional value for the price. It was important to find one that covered the area without being huge, bulking and loud. It is quiet, blends in with the surroundings and more importantly it is easy to use and does the job. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to create a pleasant and dry enviroment. Reliable Having a perpetually damp basement, I like having a dehumidifier that keeps on working, day in and day out. June 30, 2010
Good unit Unit is working well and is entering the second season. Other brands i have tried all failed during second seasons use - even their replacement units. This unit seems to be built better than others and shows no signs of problems. April 15, 2010
Great buy We spent a week scrubbing mold with bleach before plugging this unit in. It is in a finished basement where our daughter lives, and while it is not totally quiet, it is more of a soothing noise than an irritating one. It is easy to empty, and it shuts off when it is full. We have no complaints. October 25, 2009

    Proper Humidity Level

    Details:
I have a LG LHD459EL Y9 and it works great. I am trying to reach the max dehumidifying level without running up my electric bill too much. It basically remains pretty stable in the basement and right now the humidity down there (no windows and sealed off from the house) is about 54%. I have it set at 60% so it will only go on if it gets to 60%. But, the fan seems to run constantly 24/7, not the compressor, and I was wondering if that is the way it should be or what is the proper setting for the winter months so it stays dry but is not 2 or 4 hours on/off all the time.

    A:
On this unit, the fan will run continuously as long as the unit is on. The compressor will come on as needed, but the fan will remain on. As far as humidity settings go, that is a personal choice. Some people prefer it a little drier and have it set in the low 40's or high 30's. Others prefer a little more humidity, and set their unit a little higher. You just have to find the level that is comfortable for you.
